What is Lymphatic Drainage Massage?
Lymphatic drainage is a light massage to the lymph nodes that helps to pump the lymph fluid through your lymphatic system. Sometimes the lymph can get blocked and through light strokes, your therapist will unblock them. The excess of lymphatic fluids in our bodies creates inflammation and pain. Through lymphatic drainage, our therapists will boost your lymphatic system to reduce the excess fluid acquired after the surgery, helping you detoxify and reenergize naturally.After plastic surgery, our bodies are sore. The excess liquid between the skin and the operated muscles creates inflammation, pain, painful lumps / seromas, and skin hardening. Through lymphatic drainage and post-operative massage, we will help your system drain through urine.
Each treatment will be complemented with ultrasound which, through sound waves, helps to diminish pain and inflammation.
Seroma Care
A seroma is a collection of fluid buildup under the skin. After plastic surgery, it is normal to develop seromas or skin hardening. These after-effects are common and do not always develop right away after plastic surgery. With time, seromas can become chronic but they can be treated. At Lymphatic Drainage Orlando we have developed a combination of techniques with the latest technology to help you get rid of them. When seromas become chronic or a pocket of fluid is present, we have a doctor in the office who will perform the drainage with a syringe (Separate Cost). It’s important to know that the state of Florida requires a licensed medical professional (doctor or nurse) to perform the drainage with a syringe. Having it done by a non-medical professional can end up in serious conditions such as gastrointestinal perforation.
